Spain (Espana)
In the numerous countries and wonderful places I have visited, Spain (España) has come to rank among my most favorite places. The foodie type traveler is in culinary heaven when they land in España. Everything about Spain tastes good, smells good, and has a unique flavor. If you’re not a foodie, there’s still plenty to explore in this Spanish homeland.
For the historians, España is rich in epic stories of conquest and trials. For the architects it’s home to Antoni Gaudi, and for the artists there’s no lack of marvels to discover. It is so vast and interesting. Spain really does have it all. Check out these posts for some of my Spanish adventures.
It is impossible to step foot in Barcelona and not hear the name Antoni Gaudi. This famed architect’s genius shaped so much of Espana’s golden city that his name is echoed daily in the streets. His remarkably unique style left its mark throughout the city long after his death. These are some of the many reasons that Antoni Gaudi is the soul of Barcelona’s architecture.
Barcelona is probably the most unique aspect of España’s mainland. A city with two languages, Mediterranean beach front properties and mountain backdrops, it is an interesting duality in the fusion of cultures.
It is no surprise that two native Catalans, Ignacio Ussía and Sergi Palacín created another perfect duality in their Barcelona based Asian-Mediterranean fusion restaurant.
In all likelihood, you’ve scrolled through Instagram looking at photos in preparation for your trip to Barcelona, Espana. You’ve seen many of the famous landmarks, Gaudi architecture. Well, we’ve got the scoop on exactly where to go in Barcelona to build your travel photo collection. So what are the best photo spots in Barcelona? Come find out!
