Though my trip to Uruguay was quite short, it did not take me but a day to realize that this small country was greatly underestimated in so many ways. While I only made it as far as Colonia, the quaint town with it lovely charms had me falling in love with its cobblestones in minutes. If Colonia is any indication to the other hidden gems scattered across the country then I wholeheartedly look forward to my next opportunity to explore it. 

Just a short ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires, Argentina is the quaint town of Colonia in Uruguay. Officially named Colonia de Sacramento, it was one of the first Uruguayan city.
