Argentina
Argentina is honestly one of my top 5 favorite visited countries. It is vastly different from region to region, and has a wide array of culture, art/architecture, nature, history, food and music to satisfy every type of traveler. There is something very unique about Argentina that sets it apart from other South American countries.
That’s coming from me who barely scratched the surface on the amazing things available to discover. Check out the highlights from my incredible trip in the posts below in my. Can’t wait to find my way to Argentina again!
Buenos Aires is the fantastic metropolitan capital of Argentina. It is a unique city, unlike most in South America. Largely influenced by European and American culture, it is not hard to spot the impact of countries like France, Spain, Italy, and the U.S. on the culture found there.
From the food to the architecture, and everything in between there is an array of things to see and experience…
Just a short ferry ride across the Rio de la Plata from Buenos Aires, Argentina is the quaint town of Colonia in Uruguay. Officially named Colonia de Sacramento, it was one of the first towns in Uruguay. Furthermore, the historic center of this quaint city was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
A day spent wandering the cobblestone roads along the Rio de la Plata was well worth the flashback to Portugal in the late 1600s….
Hidden along the foothills of the Andes Mountains that border Chile, Patagonia is the gem of Argentina. This wildly gorgeous lake district makes up the incredible panorama between Bariloche and San Martin de Los Andes.
Undoubtedly, driving the Circuito Chico and Route 40 was the most amazing road trip I have ever taken. Like a little Switzerland in Argentina, Patagonia was beyond gorgeously scenic…
Consisting of a network of over 260 waterfalls, Iguazu Falls is the largest collection of waterfalls in the world. They were caused by a volcano eruption and span the borders of three countries in South America, namely Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay.
My trip here was a happy accident filled with beautiful landscapes and four stamps in my passport. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me that ranks pretty high on my “best places ever visited” list….
Barcelona is probably the most unique aspect of España’s mainland. In a city with two native languages, it’s no surprise that two native Catalans, Ignacio Ussía and Sergi Palacín…
If you’re anything like me, you’ll know a good idea when you hear one. That’s how my boyfriend and I got to experience some of Guatapé on a day trip from Medellin…
Ok, so lets be realistic. Smurfs are probably not real…right? Despite Colombia Pictures’ attempt to make us believable that these adorable blue mini-people could be real…
Enter the land of samba and carnivals, Sugarloaf Mountains and some of the world’s best coffee. Where the beach is a national pass time and the culture is vibrant and bustling…
The city of San Juan, Puerto Rico is definitely a place “rich” in a large number of ways, as I rediscovered when visited back in February. There is unparalleled beauty to be found…
Fact! Cartagena is Colombia’s most popular destination for ringing in the new year. Rightfully so, as the city puts on quite the party. The tropical climate creates the most wonderful…
