What Are the 11 Best Photo Spots in Barcelona?
Guest Post by Haley Johnson
1. Sagrada Familia
Carrer de Mallorca, 401, 08013 Barcelona, Spain
Sagrada Familia is one of the many architectural legends that Gaudi left in his wake in Barcelona. It is absolutely one of the best photo spots in Barcelona by far. The building is a large, imposing Catholic Church, so be sure to stand far away if you want to capture the building in its entirety.
Fun fact: even decades after the architect’s death, the building has yet to be completed. Regardless, it still makes for an incredible and iconic photograph. The building is also gorgeous on the inside, so make sure you take photos there, too!
2. Casa Battlò
Passeig de Gràcia, 43, 08007 Barcelona, Spain
Casa Battlo is another Gaudi masterpiece you need to take photos of when you’re visiting Barcelona. You’ve undoubtedly seen pictures of this piece before – from daylight photos with light glinting off the colorful tiles, to nighttime photos with the building lit up and glowing.
The Venetian mask-like balconies of Casa Batllo is it’s most notable feature. This is another building you’ll have to see the interior of, as well. The stained glass windows look incredible with the outside light pouring through, making it one of the best photo spots in Barcelona.
3. El Raval
El Ravel is an extremely multicultural and diverse neighborhood in Barcelona. While there are plenty of architectural photo opps (like La Rambla del Raval and Placa del Angels), you will most love this photo spot because of the street photography opportunities.
Of course, remember to follow courtesy rules when photographing anyone on the street. Head over during golden hours for amazing light peeking through the buildings.
4. Parc de la Ciutadella
Passeig de Picasso, 21, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
El Ravel is an extremely multicultural and diverse neighborhood in Barcelona. While there are plenty of architectural photo opps (like La Rambla del Raval and Placa del Angels), you will most love this photo spot because of the street photography opportunities.

5. Mount Tibidabo
08035 Barcelona, Spain
This is one of the best places to experience a panoramic view of Barcelona’s beautiful architecture. There’s an amusement ride there, if you’re also looking for some entertainment – maybe you could get creative with some of your shots! It is easily one of the best photo spots in Barcelona.
6. Barcelona Cathedral
Pla de la Seu, s/n, 08002 Barcelona, Spain
The Barcelona Cathedral is the seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, and is just around the corner from Sagrada Familia. For some unique views, head to the rooftop. Access to the rooftop (and the interior) is free from the morning until 1pm, with the exception of Sundays.
7. La Barceloneta
La Barceoneta is the main beach in Barcelona, where surfers swarm and families gather and the sunsets are unbeatable and the palm trees sway. For a variety of shots, try going at various times of the day – particularly when the light is soft, and sunset shots will always be gorgeous there. Especially as the light reflects off the buildings!
8. Palau de la Música Catalana
C/ Palau de la Música, 4-6, 08003 Barcelona, Spain
Palau de la Musica’s best photos are from the inside. If you like colorful decor, you will love this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Palua de la Musica is a famous concert hall, and you can enter it during the day when there aren’t any performances taking place. Pose by the balconies!
9. Hospital de Sant Pau
Carrer de Sant Quintí, 89, 08041 Barcelona, Spain
This building is also designed in the famous Catalan modern style, making it easily one of the best photo spots in Barcelona. While Hospital de Sant Pau used to be an active hospital, it hasn’t been 2009 and now it acts as a museum and cultural center.
10. Park Güell
08024 Barcelona, Spain
Park Guell is located slightly north of Barcelona’s city center, and it is yet another Gaudi installation that’s a must-visit. There are endless perspectives while you walk around the park. Gaudi’s mosaics and architectural definitions make this park one of the best photo spots in Barcelona strictly because of its uniqueness.
11. The Magic Fountain
Plaça de Carles Buïgas, 1, 08038 Barcelona, Spain
The Magic Fountain was built on the side of Monjuic hill for the 1923 International Exhibition and is simply a stunning place for photos. And bonus? They provide a daily light and sound show for your enjoyment! For the best photos, you might actually want to try to avoid the sound and light show because the shows draw large crowds.
